ICET-2013 Counselling Postponed Latest News Andhra Pradesh

The prevailing unrest across the Seemandhra region after the Centre’s announcement on state bifurcation, cast a shadow on the counselling process of various common entrance test in the state.
The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) has already postponed ICET counselling indefinitely, a common entrance test conducted in the state to fill MCA and MBA seats, set to begin from Saturday. Over 1.23 lakh candidates cleared ICET-2013 have been eagerly waiting for the counselling to begin. The number of seats available in MBA and MCA courses are 1.5 lakh, but only 1.23 lakh candidates cleared the test out of 1.28 lakh appeared.
The school education department, which has to issue the notification for DIETCET-2013 counselling for filling the DEd (Diploma in Education) seats is also learnt to be waiting for the  situation to calm down. As many as 2.71 lakh candidates took the test are waiting for the announcement on counselling.
The APSCHE might be forced to postpone the PGECET-2013 (Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test) now underway across the state in 12 counselling centres.
The Eamcet-2013 engineering counselling which is being delayed due to court cases over the B Category seats filling might also face another hurdle in the form of troubled situation in the state though the court cases are expected to be cleared in a week.
Finally, the academic year for these courses will be delayed owing to the prevailing unrest across the state.
An ICET aspirant K Madusudhan from Hyderabad has urged the state government to ensure that the counselling should begin at the earliest.
